It still shocks me when candidates do this.
Today, I ended a job interview in 3 minutes.
I asked: “Before we dive in, what stood out about my business/work that made you trust me with your application?”
Silence.
Then: “Oh, I just sent my CV to different agencies… I only have basic knowledge of what you do and who you are.”
I stopped right there, with a calm voice, I said: “Let’s talk when you’re ready because right now, you’re not.”
If you want me to represent you, you need to know what I represent.
If I’m investing my time, I expect you to have invested yours.
Respect means:
•You prepare.
•You pay attention.
•You meet energy with energy.
He didn’t hear this part….
You will.
Because the fastest way to lose an opportunity isn’t rejection.
It’s showing up like you couldn’t give a damn.
