I refused to let likes define my work on LinkedIn.
I refused to shape my message around approval.
I refused to give up when I started posting here in 2018.
Even if you try to please everyone, you never will.
I chose authenticity instead.
Because here’s the truth no one talks about.
The most important things on LinkedIn rarely happen on LinkedIn.
No likes, no comments, no public reaction…
It happens in silence:
Someone paying attention longer than you’ll ever know from afar.
Another one is thinking.
Someone is changing how they lead.
That is what moves me.
Especially in hospitality, where everything begins and ends with people.
Human potential is the true gold of this industry.
I won’t pretend I don’t enjoy a post that performs well, of course I do.
But that’s not where impact shows itself.
Impact shows up later.
I saw it last week again when an executive reached out for a coaching 1:1 session.
Someone who trusted my voice from a distance.
Someone who felt safe enough to say what they couldn’t say inside their own organization and close circle.
Someone who needed a neutral perspective to bring clarity where pressure had taken over.
Today, we understand this better:
Seeking support isn’t weakness.
It’s leadership.
The real shifts don’t happen in public posts with a like.
They happen in private decisions.
In moments where someone chooses to take that next step towards change.
