A General Manager asked me, five minutes into our first meeting.
Wrong question.
I’m not growing older.
Youth is not a face.
It’s a state.
Longevity has become the new perfume of luxury hotels.
Everyone wants to wear it. Few leave a trace.
Cold plunges, infrared saunas and red-light therapy are now on every spa menu.
They wake up the body. Rarely the soul.
Whats the point of adding years to life if the person inside has stopped expanding?
So dont just extend my life. Awaken it.
Get me drunk on inspiration.
Give me one conversation that changes everything.
Turn my brain into a dance floor for ideas.
Send me home with an inspiration hangover I never want to lose.
Leave me more alive than when I arrived, and I will remember you forever.
A machine cant do that. Neither can a spa menu.
People can.
After nine years in recruitment, a CV tells me where someone has been.
My focus is what they can awaken in everyone around them.
Heres my prediction:
The hotels that win the longevity race wont have the coldest plunge pools.
They will have the warmest leaders.
Longevity isn’t something you sell.
It’s someone you hire.
Need a leader like that for your hotel?
Take the plunge. Ill find them.
